Trapdoor Snails will attain a maximum size of around 4cm. They eat algae and decaying plants within the pond helping to keep the water clear. Interesting to know, Trapdoor Snails have gills and therefore should be treated as fish. Pond Planet recommend a maximum stocking level of 5 snails per m² of pond area.
