The Tetra Test Nitrite Water Test Kit is a simple to use kit for measuring the Nitrite value (N02) reliably and precisely in freshwater aquariums, marine aquariums and ponds. The Tetra Nitrite Test Kit provides readings between 0.3 mg/l and 33.0 mg/l.

Organic, nitrogen containing substances in ponds and aquariums, such as fish waste and uneaten food, are decomposed in stages via the Nitrogen Cycle: first into toxic Ammonia, then into Nitrite and finally into Nitrate. A Nitrite concentration of over 0.3 mg/l will cause your fish long term harm, with higher concentrations leading to stress and possible fatal consequences. Testing for Nitrite especially in new set ups is important so you can take appropriate action if required.

Application:
The Tetra Test Nitrite Water Test Kit is a simple to use kit for determining Nitrite levels. It is a liquid kit, which works by changing the colour of a water sample in relation to the Nitrite concentration. You simply need to compare the colour of the sample to the easy-to-read colour chart in order to determine the Nitrite level. Tetra recommend testing for Nitrite every 1-2 weeks. Always read the instructions carefully before use.
