The Ramshorn Snail is a small mollusc sometimes growing to 2.5cm in size. Ramshorn snails are suitable for small to medium sized ponds and eat algae from the base and walls of the pond as well as decaying plant matter. This activity helps reduce algae growth and aids in increasing water clarity. Ramshorn Snails can vary in colour from translucent shades of brown and depending of their diet, even black. Pond Planet recommended stocking level of around 5 snails per m² of pond area.
