Japanese Matting has long been a favourite filter media for both new and experienced pond keepers alike. Japanese Matting has a coarse structure which provides mechanical filtration, effectively removing waste and debris. The huge surface area also provides an ideal home for filter bacteria to colonise meaning it also acts as an ideal biological filter media.

Japanese Matting is best used in sheet form with spacers between each layer to allow for excellent water flow. The Matting is strong and durable providing a long lasting option. The sheets can be cut down to size to fit most models of pond filter if required.
